9/12/08 – Is it safe to come out…?

Reiko here, live from Nagisa City.

Akagi, the leader of the Galaxy Gang, has been defeated, and his minions with him. The legendary Pokemon trio fled somewhere, and we were left to face Dialga and Palkia. Tatsuya agreed to take Palkia and I focused on Dialga. The fight was long and hard, but at last, I managed to capture Dialga. It seemed to wish to travel with me, perhaps not ready to slumber again.

According to a tool Tatsuya loaned me before the fight, Dialga has a Mild nature. This tool also informs me Dialga has near-perfect Attack and Special Attack as well as near-perfect Special Defense, making it a powerful contender for my future battles.

Having decided to continue our quest, we journeyed out to Nagisa City where Denzi, the leader, seems to be… not at his gym? A man with strange hair came up to me a while ago in a panic. Looks like a Trainer’s job is never done…

8/17/08 – Vs. Dialga and Palkia!

It’s all come down to the wire. Tatsuya and I are at the Spear Pillar– the Galaxy Gang’s admins and leaders have assembled; our worst fears came true. When we were too late to save the legendary trio, they had been used to call forth Dialga and Palkia… time and space are warping eVen as wE speak...

8/14/08 – Icicle Badge!

Reiko here, Icicle Badge in hand courtesy of Suzuna. Glacia had a field day in her gym, though I have to admit, the ice totally threw me off. I guess I’m a little rusty.

Merriep has been busy, evolving two stages– first to Mokoko (Flaaffy) and then again into Denryu (Ampharos)! My team has finally evolved, each to its highest possible stage of evolution. In commemoration of this, I have nicknamed each of my team members. Here are their statistics as of this post:

“Erika” (Mojumbo/Tangrowth♀) – Lv.46
“Adan” (Azumao/Seaking♂) – Lv.42
“Mikan” (Denryu/Ampharos♀) – Lv.31
“Itsuki” (Kirinriki/Girafarig♂) – Lv.45
“Yanagi” (Glacia/Glaceon♂) – Lv.44
“Tsutsuji” (Tsubotsubo/Shuckle♀) – Lv.32

As to what their names are in reference to, well, you figure it out. It’s not like it’s not obvious enough, right?

I’m off to Mt. Coronet to hook up with Tatsuya and train for the upcoming fight. I too plan to rise to at least level 45. Itsuki and Erika have already made it that far, and Yanagi and Adan are close, so that leaves just Tsutsuji and the baby of the group, Mikan, before I’m ready.

Galaxy Gang, I don’t want to fight you, but you’ve left us with no choice… here we come!

8/12/08 – A new evolution on the path to Kissaki~

Reiko here, and you weren’t joking, Tatsuya! It’s freezing out here! I knew I should have dressed better for the occasion, but I do love the snow. And speaking of snow…

I left Mio City some time ago after Dr. Nanakamado and his assistant informed me that the Galaxy Gang had their eyes on Agnome, Yuxie, and Emrit. Considering Tatsuya had already gotten there ahead of me and was too late, I checked on things afterwards, and even though I knew it already, there was nothing except empty caves and angry Galaxy Gang members. Mars’ Bunyat (Purugly) was a challenge for me, though Saturn’s team fell shortly. The Koiking (Magikarp) seem to be shaken up but otherwise fine, and I know the water will return the great lakes soon. Heaven have mercy on the souls of the Galaxy Gang, for the angry  Gyarados that watch over the Koiking will be out for blood tonight. (Speaking of them… I wonder if we’ll ever see that red Gyarados that was mentioned on that TV program I saw the day I left for my journey…)

Disappointed and heartbroken for the poor Pokemon, I hurriedly embarked through Mt. Tengan on my way to Kissaki. While I was inside, I spotted a female Pippi (Clefairy). It had Magic Guard– Mojumbo couldn’t damage it with Mistletoe Seed (Leech Seed). One ball later, and it’s now resting comfortably inside my PC.

Right now, I’m somewhere south of Kissaki– the blizzard is really bad in this area, and if I stay out much longer I’ll get frostbite… strangely, even though I know it’s cold, I’m somehow able to survive… perhaps it’s because Moukazaru is in my party while Tsubotsubo is resting. I think Moukazaru‘s doing his best to keep me warm. I feel guilty using him for his knowledge of the secret machine techniques while I focus on the rest of my team gains experience, but I will devote my full attention to his training after all of this mess with the Galaxy Gang has blown over…

Eievui really became attached to me. He showed signs of wanting to evolve into Eifie (Espeon), but I’d been belaying that as I had been wanting to wait until it learned Bite, which it did just a few brief levels ago. However, while I was outside here in the snow, I saw a strange rock. This rock was covered over in ice, and it looked almost as if it was made out of ice itself. Suddenly, a Yukikabli (Snover) attacked while I was examining it. I had already captured one earlier, so without thinking I had Kirinriki attack it. As Eievui has been sharing experience with the other party members, it gained a level with Yukikabli‘s defeat and it evolved.

However, instead of Eifie, I got a different Pokemon entirely– this one was registered in the Zukan as the ice-type Glacia! I procured a move machine– Freezing Beam (Ice Beam) from Tatsuya as a gift at the start of my journey. I instantly taught it and Water Pulse to Glacia; coupled with Bite and Wish I think he’s now ready to fight on his own.

Merriep still has not hatched. I wonder if the cold temperature is affecting the egg in any way… anyhow, I’d better get back out there and brave the blizzard, since it doesn’t look like it’s dying down any time soon.

Tatsuya, I’m worried for both the Pokemon’s sakes and for our own. What Shirona’s grandmother told me about the pair of legendary Pokemon… and then these three from the lakes… I can’t stand all this violence. Friendly competition is one thing, but what they’re doing is completely wrong. Let’s put an end to the fighting with our own hands!

8/12/08 – Feeling a little chilly wearing just a scarf…

Tatsuya here, scaling Mt. Coronet. A lot has happened since my last update.

After beating up Byron and narrowly avoiding the Rowan stare of death, I then proceeded to Valor Lakefront and said a silent prayer to the poor Magikarp, who were forced to weakly flop around and use their Splash attack endlessly. Saturn was hiding in the location where Azelf previously slept, but I was too late to save the psychic legendary. After defeating Saturn, I rushed to help Mesprit, but alas, I was once again too slow to save her. Beating up Mars was a simple task (Dawn even helped by trying to mimic the Rowan stare), so I was off to aid my rival. Braving the snowstorms leading up to Acuity Lakefront was tough, but I eventually reached it, only to find that it was sealed off by two Galactic Grunts, much like the scientists has blocked off Valor much earlier.

After warming up at the nearest PokeCenter, it was off to fight Candice. Her sliding floor gym was quite tricky, but I had prior experience with slippery floors thanks to my adventures in Johto and Hoenn. Charizard made short work of Candice and her… umm… very “local” Pokemon (including a random Medicham for absolutely no reason at all). She handed me the Icicle Badge as well as the TM Avalanche, which puts me one step closer to dueling the Elite Four, something I look forward to.

After seeing my rival get defeated, I quickly flew to Veilstone City and raided the Galactic Headquarters. The Grunts in the HQ were relatively easy to defeat, then came the head honcho himself, Cyrus, a man who has given up all his emotions entirely. He reminds me of a character in another game I played who goes by the name of Caulder, but Cyrus’s goals are much more simple as opposed to documenting the life and death that goes on within a battlefield for the mere facts of it. Cyrus was a tougher-than-usual opponent, but he is most definitely not showing his true power yet. After beating him, he gave me the Master Ball and proceeded to tell me how to use it, claiming he has no use for it. Him just giving the Master Ball away is almost as bad as Team Aqua just leaving it lying around in their base (the only Master Ball which can be permanently missed, by the way).

After beating Saturn once again, who didn’t change much at all, I freed the Legendary Trio and am now climbing Mt. Coronet. I’ve been training as hard as I can, trying to get all my team members to at least level 45 so that I can stand a chance against the Admins, as well as Cyrus, but I definitely can’t do this alone. Reiko, it’s time to defeat Team Galactic once and for all!

8/11/08 – Mine Badge, and with it comes Merriep~

Reiko here. Tougan has given up the Mine Badge, and now I am finally able to claim my last prize Pokemon; Merriep (Mareep)! At last, the team is complete.

Eievui (Eevee) hatched, and it is male. My rival came at me in a rush as I stepped out of the Mio Gym; looks like something’s up at the library. Dr. Nanakamado? The Galaxy Gang again? Looks like I’d better hurry…

8/9/08 – Relic Badge obtained… who’s that Pokemon?

Reiko is live from the Yosuga City Gym; Melissa has been beaten and the Relic Badge has been obtained.

As Mojumbo is currently my strongest Pokemon, I had a difficult time as two of the three Pokemon on Melissa’s team were advantageous in type against it. Melissa’s Gangar (Gengar) was particularly at an advantage as Grass-type moves proved to be of little effect against it, and Tsubotsubo only has Excessive Poison (Toxic) as an attack, which Gangar boasts immunity to. Nevertheless, my team barely pulled through.

A brief update for the curious: Mojumbo is at level 41, Tsubotsubo is at level 32, Kirinkiri is at level 19, and Tosakinto is at level 19.

I hope to break out of the low-levelled rut soon. If all else fails, I can go hunt down some Ishitsubute (Geodude)…

My 5th prize, Eievui (Eevee), has been obtained! It’s joining the team late-game, which will make the transition to Glacia (Glaceon) much less agonizing.

8/9/08 – Reveling in the ghost

Reiko is on-air in Kannagi City. Again, technical difficulties have been plaguing my ability to update, but I’m rectifying that now.

Severely lagging behind Tatsuya, I’m just now passing Shirona’s memo to her grandmother. Kirinriki and Tosakinto have both hatched, and both are male. I’m spending time with them getting them up to par so that they can close the level gap between themselves and Mojumbo.

The Relic Badge seems so far off and so nearby at the same time. I hate falling behind, but like the Regigigas of legend, I’ll get my act together and be ready to crush soon enough.

Galaxy Gang, we’re ready for you. Tatsuya, let’s do this!

8/9/08 – Sixth badge now received, Lileep finally unveils itself.

Tatsuya here, standing on the top floor of Byron’s gym. It’s still a long way to the Elite Four, but with the Mine Badge in my handy little box, my team is finally complete and ready to display its true potential. I still have some bad memories of fighting Cyrus from my first time around, but I’m pretty sure I’m ready for him this time. Now that I’m able to use Strength, it’s time to head where the SS Anne was and push that truck.

As well as being able to push trucks and giant boulders around, the Mine Badge grants me my last prize Pokemon, Lileep, who I’m not quite sure how I’m going to raise, honestly. Most of my teammates are sweepers at heart, while Lileep is very much the opposite by attempting to stall enemies while lasting as long as possible. It might turn out for the better, letting me stall opponents while healing any injured teammates. I have high hopes for Lileep and welcome it into the band.

As for my next objective, it’s time to hit the books and do a little research. “How to Cook an Intergalactic Pizza” by Youngster Calvin seems like an interesting read. Until next time, shorts are comfy and easy to wear!

8/7/08 – Fifth badge in hand, Zigzagoon races to join the flock.

Tatsuya hiding in the lovely city of Hearthome. Fantina spun around in place and granted me the Relic Badge after a rather tough battle. Froslass was once again a integral part of dismantling her team, but without the powerful Shadow Ball, I was hard-pressed to KO her ghosts before she took out my chilly ally. It was a tough match, but my team pulled through to snag victory. Now I am once again able to Surf, so I hope little Magnemite gets ready to take on the watery depths of Sinnoh.

My prize Pokemon for receiving the Relic Badge is Zigzagoon, a Pokemon I had high hopes of getting earlier, but is perfectly fine coming in at this late a stage. With only Lileep hiding in the ranks, things will be very interesting indeed come the time that Cyrus puts his plan to bake a pizza into action.
